What is the difference between Fullblood and F1 wagyu?


Fullblood Wagyu

(That’s Futari Wagyu)

  • Fullblood Wagyu refers to the original state of Wagyu (100% genetic) that doesn’t have any crossbreed. It is the highest grade of fullblood Japanese Wagyu.
  • Fullblood Wagyu is the pinnacle of Wagyu beef, with the characteristic high marbling, purity & consistency so highly prized in Japanese cuisine and fine dining.

  • Wagyu F1 refers to the crossbreed between Fullblood Wagyu & a Conventional Cow. F1 wagyu also knows as “Percentage” Wagyu and usually considered to be a “first-generation” crossbreed. It has 50% or more than that Wagyu genetic content.
  • F1 Wagyu is the most common type of Wagyu. F1 has Better marbling then other beef but not as high as full blood Wagyu.
